Supporting America’s workers means investing in education and training services that strengthen our workforce. This week, I introduced two bills to improve the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

As economic uncertainty rises and businesses across Oklahoma struggle with workforce shortages, it’s crucial our workers have access to quality job training regardless of their background. These two bills specifically target current holes in the system that, once addressed, will strengthen the process, increase accountability, and improve program outcomes. Read more here. 

Great news! My bipartisan bill to allow farmers and ranchers to protect their newborn livestock from black vultures without burdensome government interference has passed through a U.S. House of Representatives' Natural Resources Committee markup. Next stop - the House floor. I'm glad my colleagues in the House recognize the importance of this legislation. 

I recently had the chance to sit down with Oklahoma participants in the National Cattlemen's Beef Association's 2024 Young Cattlemen's Conference (YCC). YCC provides young leaders with an understanding of all aspects of the industry, from cattle and beef production to the consumer. As a cow-calf rancher myself, it was great to sit down and discuss this program.

I was thrilled to welcome the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber to Washington this week. It's helpful to hear directly from our business leaders in the state on the needs of their communities and the most pressing issues they are facing. We spoke about upcoming farm bill, fighting overregulation, what to expect with government funding, and Oklahoma priorities in the Environment and Public Works and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committees. Thank you to Christy Gillenwater, President of the Greater OKC Chamber, for your leadership. 

Cumulative prices have risen 20.1% since Joe Biden took office in Jan 2021.This week, I joined Fox Business to discuss the recent Consumer Price Index (CPI) report and Biden's record-breaking inflation numbers. We also discussed the recent surge in enrollment for vocational training programs and trade industry jobs. Check it out here. 

Democrats are trying to twist the narrative as usual and using their Summer of Show votes to do it. Like many Americans, my wife and I struggled for years to have children. Thankfully, in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other fertility services have helped countless couples fulfill their dreams of starting a family, including my own. Despite Senate Democrats’ desperate attempts to politicize this issue and fear-monger to voters, the reality is, not a single Senate Republican opposes nationwide access to in vitro fertilization, in fact, we emphatically support it.
