Countries from every corner of the world are making immense sacrifices to control the spread of COVID-19.

Although many of these short-term restrictions are necessary, we must confront authoritarians and dictators who seek to employ them as an excuse to crackdown on dissent and freedom of speech.

Look no further than China — the country where the COVID-19 virus originated. China silenced the doctors and journalists who blew the whistle on the virus in December, depriving the world of valuable time to prepare for the ensuing pandemic. 

According to an analysis completed on March 13, 86% of COVID-19 cases could have been prevented if the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had not lied to the world and its own people about the crisis happening within their borders. 

Despite the uncovering of their failures, the CCP’s machinery of oppression has not slowed down. They’ve expelled 13 journalists from the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post and several Chinese citizens reporting the truth about Wuhan have disappeared. 

We must take a stand and hold them accountable — now. 

That’s why I joined my fellow Senators in signing a letter demanding that the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Mission to the United Nations document human rights violations like these across the globe and make sure the perpetrators are held accountable.

The world is now suffering untold tragedy as a result of China’s broken, authoritarian system. We cannot continue to let the brutality and oppression of the Chinese Communist Party and dictatorships like it go without challenge.

The maximum allowable contribution per individual to Georgians for Kelly Loeffler is $5,600 ($2,800 for the general and $2,800 designated for a potential general run-off election).

A couple may contribute up to $11,200 ($5,600 for the general and $5,600 designated for a potential general run-off election) if drawn on a joint account and if this form is completed and signed by both contributors.

 Federal Multicandidate PAC’s may contribute $5,000 per election.

Federal law requires that Georgians for Kelly Loeffler use best efforts to report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in an election cycle.

Contributions to Georgians for Kelly Loeffler are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

Contributions from corporations, foreign nationals who are not lawfully admitted for permanent residence, and federal government contractors are prohibited. Contributions are subject to federal contribution limits.
