After a week of newsworthy blunders, I wish we could treat Eric Hovde’s campaign like a laughing matter.

In a recent cable news interview, he let out a Freudian slip by saying he’s “never been a resident of Wisconsin.” In fact, he’s spent so little time here that he had to cast employees on his payroll to act as everyday Wisconsinites in a campaign ad…

As head scratching as these slip-ups are, I’m dead serious when I say Eric Hovde is running one of the most formidable Senate campaigns in the country.

He’s already spent over $9 million on campaign ads. If that wasn’t enough, FIVE different Hovde-aligned dark money groups are airing attacks against Tammy — that’s more than any other Senate Democrat incumbent is facing.

Hovde’s plan to buy this Senate seat is working, with his internal polling showing him down just one point after only a few months of campaigning.

This race is going to get even more expensive, so we need to be prepared with the resources to fight back.
