This week, I demanded answers from the Biden Administration over a clearly political prosecution of a Texas surgeon who exposed transgender surgeries taking place on minors at Texas Children’s Hospital. I also voted to hold Attorney General Garland in contempt of Congress over his refusal to turn over audio recordings of the Department of Justice’s interview with President Biden. 

As we get closer and closer to the November elections, I’m going to be doing everything I can to protect and expand our Republican majority in the House of Representatives. We have good, governing members of Congress running in districts Joe Biden won in 2020 - I’m going to be working hard to protect their re-election. We also have quality candidates with deep experience running to unseat Democrats in swing districts across the country - I’m going to be working hard to make sure we flip these seats red. Dr. Eithan Haim is a Texas doctor who took to heart his oath to do no harm. The left loves to champion a whistleblower, but when a doctor blows the whistle on the mutilation of children, Democrats conveniently forget their ‘principles.’

Dr. Haim blew the whistle on transgender surgeries taking place at Texas Children’s Hospital. When he came forward, he said he felt it was his responsibility as a doctor to expose the sex change procedures on children that the hospital told the public was not taking place.

Now, Dr. Haim is being prosecuted by the Biden Administration. 

Flat out — this prosecution should not be happening; that's obvious to anyone following this story. But unfortunately, Dr. Haim is being prosecuted because of Biden's politicized DOJ. They're looking to make an example of him so that no one with a different viewpoint steps out of line.

That’s why I am demanding answers into the reasoning behind this investigation from the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services, and any communication that took place within the Biden Administration in the lead up to this investigation. 

Americans do not want to see the next generation mutilated - that’s what this fight is about.

HOLDING GARLAND IN CONTEMPT

The left is predictably losing their minds over our vote this week to hold Attorney General Garland in contempt of Congress for his refusal to turn over the audio recording of the Department of Justice’s interview with Joe Biden in the classified documents case. But this is the basic function of checks and balances within our system of government - Congress has an oversight authority over the executive branch. We’ve asked for the recordings, we’ve subpoenaed the executive branch, and when they still refuse to hand over the recordings it’s our job to hold the Attorney General in contempt. 

Now, why do we want these recordings? It’s not because of “naked partisanship” as the left has claimed, and it’s not to “embarrass Biden” to show how he’s old and doddering. We don’t need an audio recording to know that Joe Biden is old, doddering, and doesn’t have the mental faculties that we expect from a president - we can see that every single day. 

The reason we want these recordings is to establish intent, and to answer the basic questions: what was Joe Biden’s intent behind his mishandling of classified documents? Did Joe Biden intentionally keep those documents? Did he know that they were clearly not being stored in a secure manner? Did he do all of this with the intent to talk about the classified material with his biographer?

These are the questions we are trying to answer. The audio recording will help us answer these questions. And the fact that Attorney General Garland refuses to turn over these recordings after Congress lawfully requested them warrants that he be held in contempt of Congress, which is why I voted for it.
