I'm reaching out to you today with an urgent request. Will you please chip in to Jamaal Bowman's re-election campaign? He's up against the billionaires at AIPAC who will do anything – even spew xenophobic rhetoric – in order to win.
On Monday night, George Latimer tried to call out Jamaal for having "out-of-state donors" in Dearborn.
What he really was saying is Jamaal supports and has support from the Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim American communities, here in our city and across the country – and AIPAC hates that.
The entire comment reeked of Islamophobia.
Not only is Latimer attacking Jamaal for his pro-peace, pro-ceasefire stance – but he's also using our wonderful, diverse city of Dearborn as an insult.
Well here's a news flash: standing with a majority of Americans on the side of peace and justice is not wrong. Using dog whistles and taking money from a billionaire funded PACs is.
Listen, Jamaal is *the* most vulnerable progressive up for re-election this year. His opponent has slung racist lies while taking millions from PACs.
The answer's clear: we need to re-elect Jamaal and reject AIPAC's attempt to buy this election and silence millions of Americans.
So whether you're from the Bronx, Westchester or Dearborn – we all need to come together to re-elect Jamaal. Please, chip in what you can before his election on June 25:
