Dear Friend,

The House of Representatives just passed the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which included an important piece of legislation we introduced earlier this year - the Ammunition Supply Chain Act.

Ensuring our military has a reliable and resilient ammunition supply chain is essential. The Ammunition Supply Chain Act aims to identify and address key vulnerabilities in the ammunition supply chain.

The ongoing military conflicts in the Middle East and Eastern Europe have caused global shortages of materials used in ammunition production. This drives up domestic ammunition prices and presents serious concerns for our military readiness.

However, this is not just about ensuring our nation's military readiness. The Ammunition Supply Chain Act works to support American manufacturing and ensure a steady supply of ammunition for law-abiding Minnesotans to exercise their Second Amendment Rights.

The Ammunition Supply Chain Act requires the Secretary of the Army to provide a comprehensive report to Congress covering strategies for sourcing the raw materials needed for ammunition manufacturing, weaknesses in the current supply chain, and a plan for developing public-private partnerships to address challenges.

As threats to our nation’s national security continue to escalate, we must ensure that our military remains the most exceptional, prepared, and capable fighting force in the world. Including our Ammunition Supply Chain Act in this year’s NDAA is a significant victory for ensuring national security, protecting the 2nd Amendment Rights of law-abiding citizens, and supporting our men and women in uniform.

Sincerely,
