** Together, we did it!
------------------------------------------------------------
We started Next Step as a pilot to prove the concept of how working together, we could successfully house our neighbors coming out of homelessness.
It works! With support from case managers, landlords and funders, our Next Step housing collaboration is reaching the goal of housing 150 people in six months. That’s a person housed every 1.2 days! Most were staying in emergency cold weather shelter. Almost all — 96% — remain housed.

Do you have extra furniture taking up space? Consider a donation to Shiloh Community Housing. The organization has stepped up to open Anchorage’s first furniture bank.
“Shiloh aims to collect, inspect, and provide this furniture free of charge to those in need,” the organization says.

Our community’s annual Point-in-Time count was conducted over three days and asked where people who were unsheltered or unhoused slept the night of Jan. 29, 2024.

Hosting a kit-making party is a fun and impactful way to gather friends and family while supporting neighbors experiencing homelessness. Create outreach kits filled with essentials like hygiene products, snacks, and basic first aid supplies.
