Hey — I hope you’re having a nice Friday and looking forward to a great weekend ahead of you. Listen, I’m reaching out because my team and I just got together to meet about the status of our campaign. We feel great about our message, about our outreach strategy, and about our ability to outhustle our opponent. But here’s one element that’s causing us some concern: our budget. We’re up against GOP super PACs who are already spending massively in this district, and worse still, our own fundraising in June is off to a slower start than we expected. We’re looking at a big disadvantage if we don’t change things. If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
I also want to make this clear: I don’t expect you or anyone else to donate just because our fundraising slowed down at a bad moment. I’m asking for your support because I’m hoping that, if I lay out why I’m so passionate about this team, this mission, and this work, you’ll believe in this cause strongly enough to contribute your hard-earned money toward its success. The fact is, I’m running for re-election proudly on my record of getting big things done for Kansas families. By prioritizing results over partisanship and extremism, we’ve saved Kansans on Medicare $620 per year on insulin, created over 20,000 clean-energy jobs here in KS-03, and brought in millions of dollars for rural communities in Kansas to expand broadband access, ensure clean water, and fix aging roads and bridges. I’m also proud to be breaking the mold for what people picture when they picture a member of Congress. Here’s a brief snapshot of my life before I started serving in Washington: I was raised by a single mom and was the first person from my family to attend college. I juggled multiple jobs to pay my way through school. I then worked in economic and community development on Native American reservations. And when I flipped a Republican-held seat, it made me the first LGBTQ+ Native American elected to Congress. And I’m proud to be fighting hard for our values every single day. We’re up against extremists who are trying to take away abortion rights, to make life harder for LGBTQ+ Americans, to reduce access to affordable health care, and to undermine our democracy. I’m not afraid to stand up to them and defend our fundamental freedoms — but the reality is, if we’re going to win this fight, we need to flip control of the House. And there’s no realistic world in which we flip control of the House without defending this battleground House seat here in KS-03. Thanks so much for all your support. Whether or not you’re able to contribute today, I’m thankful to have you on my team. Have a great weekend, -Sharice |
