Hi John,

Yesterday, DxE investigator Zoe Rosenberg had a court date in Sonoma County where she is facing felony charges for rescuing four suffering chickens from Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse. Prosecutors officially filed an additional felony burglary charge and misdemeanor trespass charge against her. Zoe’s attorney will be arguing against these new charges, and the next court date is July 19th.

While dozens of animal advocates gathered on the courthouse steps to support Zoe and call for the prosecution of Petaluma Poultry, a second protest formed across the street. This protest was against
us, and in defense of factory farms.

You won’t believe what the factory farm defenders had to say. Watch this video to see for yourself.

Our years of investigating factory farms and rescuing animals in Sonoma County have created a climate here where many people have strong feelings on the topic of animal rights. We’re seeing increasing public discourse and coalition support, as well as mounting backlash and repression. All of these things tell us we are on the right track. Clearly, we are not speaking into a void; we are being heard, we are being responded to, and we are moving animal rights forward.

With our momentum growing in the fight for the Right To Rescue, your continued support is crucial. One significant way to help is by
becoming a monthly donor. All contributions of $24 or more per month will give you the option to receive an animal rescue mug created by our own Kitty Jones.

Thank you for helping us defend the right to rescue and demand justice for animals, including all the sick and injured chickens suffering at Petaluma Poultry. We won’t stop fighting for them.
