The latest on what's happening with right-of-center women   Weekly Wrap June 14, 2024   This Week's Highlights   Monday Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) celebrated Women's Veterans Day and thanked all of the women who have served our country in uniform. Kiggans -- a former Navy helicopter pilot, nurse practitioner, Navy wife, and mother of four -- was just one of six Republicans to defeat a Democrat incumbent in 2022. She will be on the Virginia Republican primary ballot this upcoming Tuesday. Tuesday On Tuesday, North Dakota Republicans chose WFW PAC-endorsed Julie Fedorchak to be their nominee for the state's At-Large Congressional District. Fedorchak is all but sure to win this deep red House seat in November and become the first woman to ever represent North Dakota in the House. Fedorchak currently serves on the North Dakota Public Service Commission, where she is a strong advocate for reliable and affordable energy. She has garnered major local endorsements from Governor Doug Burgum and Senator John Hoeven, as well as nationally from former President Donald Trump and GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik. Wednesday The Lugar Center and the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University recently released their new Bipartisan Index (BPI) rankings for the 118th Congress. Four WFW PAC-endorsed women ranked among the most likely to work across the aisle to deliver results for their constituents: 11th - Rep. Maria Salazar (FL-27) 16th - Rep. Young Kim (CA-40) 19th - Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02) 29th - Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) Thursday Senate Democrats forced a vote on a Democrat-led bid to provide a "nationwide right" to in vitro fertilization (IVF) services. Republicans voted it down after criticizing the measure as overly broad. In order to make clear that Republicans do support access to IVF, Sens. Katie Britt (R-AL) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) penned a letter that was co-signed by the entire Senate GOP, saying: “Senate Democrats have embraced a Summer of Scare Tactics—a partisan campaign of false fearmongering intended to mislead and confuse the American people. In vitro fertilization is legal and available in every state across our nation. We strongly support continued nationwide access to IVF, which has allowed millions of aspiring parents to start and grow their families.”   In The News   Townhall: Lt. Gov.
