Farage in power will undermine our democracy...

Nigel Farage’s Reform Party has moved ahead of the Conservatives, according to a poll by YouGov.

Farage’s anti-democratic nativism – just like the populist right in Europe – is rising on a tide of disinformation, dark money, and distrust in the establishment.

His ascent to any kind of real political power (even just leader of the opposition) would deal tremendous damage to our institutions and our political process.

Nigel Farage makes no secret of his cosy relationship with Donald Trump. He’s our very own Poundshop Populist – and he’s already swindled the country once with Brexit. We can’t let it happen again.

Given the opportunity, I have little doubt that his policies would attack Britain’s marginalised minority groups. He’d crush our remaining public services. Dismantle any kind of green agenda. Even overturn election results.

No matter how his party does in elections, he’s already making headway. Suella Braverman and others are welcoming him warmly. He’s already preparing for a leadership role, proposing a Conservative-Reform merger.

What’s clear is that this fight does not end on 4th July. This is only the beginning.
