Biden’s support for Israel’s genocide is hardly surprising because he’s been completely bought by Zionism — receiving a total of $5,688,069 from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and other pro-Israel lobby groups. In fact, most US elected officials do pretty much anything the pro-Israel lobby tells them to if they wave the right amount of money in their face. This is how Israel ensures US legislation will always support its settler colonization of Palestine. The repeated denial of our demands to end this genocide has woken the American people up to the fact that our government isn't representing the people — and we are not standing for it.

Last Saturday marked the 54th anniversary of the Naksa*, Israel’s total theft of Palestine, commemorated against the backdrop of 8 months of US-Israeli genocide in Gaza. CODEPINKers used this moment to mobilize for Gaza, taking action across the US to draw Biden’s “red line” which he previously claimed was the invasion of Rafah. His lies show us that he’s nothing but a mouthpiece for Israel, prioritizing money in his pocket over the demands of the American people. 

CODEPINK chapters across Southern California — from Coachella Valley to the Inland Empire to LA — took to the streets of Downtown LA to mobilize in support of the national march in DC. In DC, we joined thousands to surround the White House wearing red, embodying Biden’s “red line.” We brought Biden and Netanyahu masks, handcuffs, and a mock jail cell so our demand for accountability couldn’t be misunderstood! CODEPINK in Madison, Wisconsin wrapped us up with a silent vigil at the state Capitol, demonstrating the support for Palestine in every corner of the US.
