One act of kindness can inspire another. In recognition of the Worldwide Day of Giving tomorrow, you can be an inspiration to everyone whose life has been affected by Alzheimer's disease. It's as simple as making a gift to our limited-time Worldwide Day of Giving 2X Match Challenge.
On June 15, people around the world will ask themselves: "What can I do to make another person's life better?" Many will volunteer in their community, reach out to friends who are struggling and donate to the causes they care about because they know that taking action — even if it's a small gesture — can make all the difference in the world.
You can join this powerful movement when you support our Worldwide Day of Giving 2X Match Challenge. We're so grateful that a former Board member of the Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter has pledged to match every gift 2X — up to $50,000 — in honor of his mother, Ginger, if we can raise that same amount by June 17. His generous gift will go towards advancing Alzheimer's research. In recognition of this special day, your first gift can have twice the impact on our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
This exciting opportunity just became available, and I wanted to let you know about it as soon as possible. Because you're such an important part of our community, I know you will appreciate the opportunity to make your first gift while it can double in impact in the fight to end this cruel disease that kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
Make a gift that has twice the impact
Friend, I know that you understand the life-altering emotional, physical and financial toll of Alzheimer's — and the need for us to step up and help families who are affected by this disease. If you know someone living with Alzheimer's, consider offering support to them and their loved ones. Here are a few ways you can do just that:
Stay in touch. A card, call or visit means a lot and shows you care.
Offer a shoulder to lean on. Alzheimer's disease can create stress for the whole family, and simply offering your support and friendship is helpful.
Give family members a reprieve. Spend time with the person living with dementia so family members can go out alone or visit with friends.
If you're caring for someone with Alzheimer's or are living with the disease yourself, please know that we are here for you. If you need help, we can assist you in so many different ways:
Our free, 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), staffed with master's-level clinicians qualified to discuss treatment options, offers information about legal, financial and care decisions and more.
ALZNavigator™, an interactive online tool that guides individuals living with the disease and their loved ones to create a plan of action, including legal and financial planning, caregiver support, driving and more.
ALZ Connected®, a free online community where anyone impacted by Alzheimer's can share concerns and offer support — so that no one has to feel alone.
Friend, our Worldwide Day of Giving 2X Match Challenge ends in just a few short days, and we have no time to lose. Please don't delay while you have the opportunity to inspire others by making 2X the impact for the nearly 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer's. Will you lend a helping hand and make your first gift to advance research and help provide care and support?
Together, we can make an even greater impact on this Worldwide Day of Giving. Thank you for your support.
Your donation will strengthen our efforts to advance Alzheimer's care, support and research. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising global research initiatives, your gift makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias in your community and across the world. Thank you for your continued support.
