Friend, we have an important update for you on the mifepristone Supreme Court case and thanks to YOU it’s good news!

Here’s the good news: Today, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a terrific, unanimous decision for the FDA approval of the medication abortion and miscarriage drug, mifepristone. Simply, this means they approved the continued use of mifepristone by rejecting the case to ban mifepristone and this safe and effective medication remains available and legal.

This is a win for all of us! 30,000 MomsRising members took action with us when we began this fight last year. That’s 30,000 of you who believe that everyone has the fundamental right to access abortion care. But our work here is not over– extremists on the right continue to attack our reproductive rights. Just yesterday Senate Republicans harmfully blocked the Right to IVF Act.

*This is why we are asking you to make a contribution towards our movement for reproductive justice so that we can continue to advocate for mothers, parents, and all birthing people who need access to reproductive healthcare–everything from mifepristone, to birth control to fertility treatments like IVF.

While this decision is good news, the fact remains that this case should have never made it to the U.S. Supreme Court in the first place. This case frightened us all. It threatened the FDA’s 23-year-old approval of mifepristone, a medication proven to be safer to use than aspirin. At this very moment in history, medication abortion is one of the only available ways to get an abortion in some states and it is critical that people have access to it.

As we approach the second anniversary of the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade (it pains me to even say that), we find ourselves at another critical juncture in this fight for reproductive health care! Your donation now matters because it will allow MomsRising to continue to advocate for the health and autonomy of marginalized communities who already face systemic racism and barriers to healthcare.

Mothers, parents, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, immigrants, those living in poverty and rural communities are the ones who suffer the most when access to reproductive care, like abortion, birth control, and emergency contraception, becomes unavailable. This is about protecting our communities from arrests, surveillance, and criminalization for self-managing abortions. Six in ten people who have an abortion are already moms and polls show the majority of people in America agree that abortion care should be accessible to all who need it. It’s also about protecting the rights an overwhelming majority of Americans support–like the right to all forms of contraception and the right to fertility healthcare, including IVF. Being able to choose if we have children, and if so, when and how many children to have, is a fundamental human right. That is the bottom line.

We will absolutely take this win but we still have work to do and this fight is far from over! Your donation will help resource our movement for reproductive justice and ensure accessible, affordable abortion care. *When you click this link, it’ll take you directly to our donation page.*

Thank you for all you’re doing! We appreciate you.
