This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court maintained access to mifepristone, a safe and effective abortion medication.

While this victory means patients in states where abortion is legal can still get medication abortion using mifepristone, this fight is not over.

The case will be sent back down to the federal district court, which has already allowed the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Idaho to intervene in the case. This means the case could continue with the states as parties. And this ruling does nothing to restore care for the millions of people living in states with abortion bans.
