Today's SCOTUS decision does NOT defend reproductive rights

Today’s Supreme Court decision that plaintiffs lack standing to challenge the FDA's defense of abortion pills is **NOT** a permanent win for reproductive rights. 

 

Not only does it leave the door wide open for a legal challenge at a future date, but it highlights the looming threat to reproductive rights of a second Trump presidency.

 

We cannot allow Trump to re-make the FDA in his image. To do this, it is crucial to defend Democrats up and down the ballot.

The extreme rightwing SCOTUS has cleverly kicked the issue down the road, they are trying to minimize the electoral blowback for Republicans this November. 

We must keep the FDA independent from authoritarians who seek to control American bodies.

 

This crucial access is vitally important for the many Americans in the 17 states that are attacking reproductive freedom.

 

Ensuring the FDA remains science-driven and not politically manipulated is critical. The stakes are high, and the fight for reproductive rights continues. Time is running out. The November election is less than 5 months away and we have a lot of work to do.
