We need to talk about Louisiana.

After Black Louisianans spent years and years fighting for equal representation, the state's congressional map was finally compliant with the Voting Rights Act.

The fair maps movement was proud to support their efforts. But anti-democratic extremists immediately tried to undo this victory for democracy by filing a lawsuit to try to throw out the newly approved map ahead of the 2024 election. And even though they ultimately failed at the Supreme Court, they still got a federal court to rule in their favor along the way — and the case is still ongoing.

Every hard-fought victory voters earn will stay under attack. That just means we need to keep operating at full speed so we can fight back for free and fair elections.

We are no strangers to political games from the far-right.

And we are no strangers to beating them.

But we have to keep working to ensure that democracy prevails. We have to keep electing fair maps champions, pushing back against GOP gerrymanderers, and making sure voters can make their voices heard.

This mission is only achievable because we’ve had a strong grassroots team powering our work. So please, make a donation today so we can continue to fight and win for democracy. [[link removed]]
