Dear John,
As you know, there are a lot of amazing things about elephants, but there's one that resonates deeply with me: how they work together to overcome obstacles and solve the problems they collectively face.
Having had the privilege of interacting with many NhRP supporters over the years, I often think of this aspect of elephant behavior when I reflect on the nonhuman rights advocacy community of which we're all a part. For me, it's inspiring and powerful to consider how we've all, from our separate walks of life, come together to identify the core problem underlying animal suffering—animals' rightlessness—and call for fundamental change.
On so many levels, the work of the NhRP is a group effort, which is why I personally am so happy to be able to share our 2023 Annual Report with you as a way of celebrating the legal progress for animals you've helped usher into the world. I hope you enjoy exploring our Annual Report as much as we enjoyed creating it.
As we celebrate our collective achievements, we also recognize the challenges that lie ahead. Most people who exploit animals want to keep exploiting them. Only legal rights can truly stop it. With your continued support, we're committed to expanding our reach and deepening our impact in the months and years to come. If you can, please donate today to help us do this even faster.
