G7 Leaders Agree on Plan for $50 Billion Loan to Ukraine

The United States and the other large Group of 7 economies agreed Thursday on a plan to give Ukraine a $50 billion loan to help it buy weapons and begin to rebuild damaged infrastructure at a crucial moment in the war, when Russia has the momentum on the battlefield, as the NYT reports.

Biden, Zelensky to Sign 10-year U.S.-Ukraine Security Deal

President Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky planned Thursday to sign a 10-year security agreement that will commit Washington to supply Kyiv with a wide range of military assistance, national security adviser Jake Sullivan said, as The Washington Post reports.

WSJ Reporter Evan Gershkovich Indicted in Russia

Russian prosecutors said they have approved an indictment of Evan Gershkovich, the Wall Street Journal reporter held in Russia for over a year, falsely accusing him of espionage and referring his case to a trial court, where he could face a series of secret, closed-door hearings, as the WSJ reports.
