John,
I know what it’s like to be underestimated.
As a young mom of two girls (Mae and Evie), I faced the overwhelming challenge of caring for them and my husband Matt, who struggled with post-traumatic stress while navigating the bureaucratic barriers that military families often face.
I was often frustrated and discouraged, and there were times when I felt like we were just too poor or working class to ever be important. That feeling—of being nothing while giving what we felt was everything—motivated me to do whatever it took to have a voice, not just for ourselves but for the people we loved and cared about.
I worked with military non-profits, earned a law degree, and helped veterans take on the VA for free.
When I first announced my campaign for Congress a little over a year ago, I was met with skepticism. Lots of it. Who thinks they can challenge a four-term incumbent? I can. Because this is my home. My roots go back five generations here. And I know what it’s like to fight with your back against the wall - like lives depend on it. Because the simple truth is they do. It’s why I’ll never play political games: this is my community - the place that taught Matt and me everything we know about who we are and what we’re about.
I’ve traveled across the district and have had countless conversations with folks here who feel let down by Jack Bergman. They have been. Jack Bergman isn’t from here. He’s not committed to this district, to our families, to our way of life.
We know we can unseat him and bring real representation to this district, but we’ll need your help.
At the end of the month, Jack Bergman and his allies will be paying close attention to our fundraising. We have to show him we have the momentum to unseat him. Will you chip in $10 to my campaign today to help us keep up our momentum?
