I know how hard it is to be a law enforcement officer. After all, I did it for 23 years.

There were so many amazing, beautiful moments on the job and blessings like being able to save lives and serve my community, but there were also the hard days. There were days when fellow officers didn't come home. There were days I had to tell a family that their loved one had been taken from them.

When I say I back the Blue, I mean it.

America's law enforcement community is under attack both on the streets and in the courtroom — and we are seeing this play out right here in Minnesota.

The radical "defund the police" agenda pushed by extreme politicians in the Minnesota Legislature, on the Minneapolis City Council, in the governor's office, and Congress has only emboldened criminals, worsening the danger law enforcement officers face every time they put on the uniform.

These brave men and women put their lives on the line EVERY DAY to keep us safe. They don't deserve this.
