The climate crisis is here now, and every moment counts if we’re going to preserve our environment and build a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren.
That’s why I was so proud to help pass Vermont’s Global Warming Solutions Act and led a veto override to pass the bill into law, which is one of the most important things I did as a Senator. Now I’m proud to be a member of the Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition (SEEC) in Congress, where I’m fighting to transform our economy into a climate economy.
There’s almost no place in the world that values the outdoors and protection of our natural resources like Vermont, the Green Mountain State. But we must act to ensure that future generations can enjoy the same beautiful planet we call home today.
Climate action must build on our strengths. While Vermont has led the way with electric vehicles, adopting renewable energy, and land preservation, we can’t attack the impending climate crisis with a piecemeal approach. I believe we need a united, 50-state solution to create good-paying green jobs, reduce our emissions, and fight environmental injustice.
I’m proud to stand with Senator Bernie Sanders and SEEC PAC in the fight to save our planet from climate change, but we can’t do this without your support.
