Friend,
We’ll cut to the chase: We’re coming up short on our end-of-quarter fundraising goal and need your support. If you can, add a donation here. If you’re not ready to give just yet, please read on and learn about the crucial work your support enables us to do.
In May, we filed a lawsuit challenging a new Oklahoma law that seeks to usurp federal authority and place control of our immigration system into Oklahoma’s hands. Under HB 4156, entire categories of immigrants, including those pursuing asylum or other lawful statuses, would be barred from entering or remaining in the state. This law would have devastating consequences for people and families across the state, and we are suing to stop it before it goes into effect on July 1.
Last week, when President Biden issued an executive action to effectively close the U.S.-Mexico border, we responded loud and clear. With your help, we sent him hundreds of messages urging him to reverse course and restore access to asylum immediately.
A few weeks ago, we launched Education for All, a national campaign dedicated to protecting the right to public education for every child, no matter who they are or where they were born. In the face of attacks, we are building a powerful movement committed to defending the right to learn.
Your support powers this essential work — in Washington D.C. and across the country.
We have a lot of work ahead of us, and we’re setting our sights high: to surpass last year’s quarterly fundraising goal by 1,000 donations. If you can, please donate to help us reach our end-of-quarter goal here >>>
With your help, we can continue to move toward a future where everyone — regardless of where we are from — has the opportunity and freedom to thrive in the United States.
Thank you for your support,
— National Immigration Law Center
