[1]Alex Padilla for Senate

Since the right-wing majority on the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Americans have seen attack after attack on our reproductive freedom.

The latest example came just today, when the majority of Senate Republicans blocked the Right to IVF Act.

I want to take a second to explain a little bit about the Right to IVF Act and what it does, and then I’ll talk about our plan from here.

First, the Right to IVF Act.

To put it directly: the Right to IVF Act will establish a clear and enforceable nationwide right to receive, provide, or cover IVF services.

This is especially important right now as Republicans in state legislatures across the country (and Republicans in Congress) take aim at reproductive freedom more broadly.

Now, for our plan to protect reproductive health care — including IVF.

President Biden has said repeatedly that if Congress sends him a bill codifying the protections of Roe v. Wade into law, he will sign it.

That means our job is to re-elect Joe Biden along with Democratic majorities in the House and Senate.

I want to be very clear about why this is so important: we cannot trust Republicans with our reproductive freedoms.

Sure, they’ll say that they want to protect IVF. The NRSC has even told Republican candidates that they should say publicly that they support IVF. But look at their actions: Not a single Republican has co-sponsored the Right to IVF Act.

We cannot afford to keep moving backwards — we must organize at the ballot box and deliver pro-choice Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate.

Can you please chip in any amount to help my campaign organize and mobilize Democrats across California and in key Senate races across the country? Reproductive freedom is on the ballot.

Thanks for reading, and for chipping in if you can. This is an important fight, and I’m grateful that you’re a part of it.
