You may not believe it at first, but abortions are more common in the church than you think.

At Human Coalition, there are many people just like my wife, Tricia, and me whose pro-life passion is driven by the fact that they have personally experienced an abortion in the past. One of these staff members is Aniela Chis, our Director of Church Partnerships.

Tricia and I sat down with Aniela to talk about her journey of having an abortion and her path to finding healing and redemption in Christ.

Her story is one of growing up in a church that emphasized rules and regulations over faith. Although she believed the basics of Christianity, her relationship with God was superficial and lacked true meaning. And because she didn’t connect well with her parents and siblings, connecting with God was difficult as well.

*It wasn’t until she stooped to her lowest point that* ** *God become real and fulfilling as Savior and Lord in her life.* That stage of hopelessness came when she had an abortion as a senior in high school. She was only 17 at the time.
