Note From the Chair
Friend,
As Chair of IDP, I have one clear responsibility - turning out Democratic voters.
This year, we have to do better. In 2022, over 90,000 Democrats that voted in 2018 stayed home.
That’s why we’ve been laying the groundwork for the last sixteen months and now we are rolling out our program. Just last week, we launched iowademocrats.org/planyourvote.
Research has shown the best way to increase turnout is by helping voters make a plan to vote - asking questions about whether they will vote by mail, early in-person, or on Election Day, what time they’ll go vote, how they will get to their polling place, and making it clear we appreciate that they are a reliable voter.
I’m asking you to help the Iowa Democratic Party out by planning your vote by clicking here.
The launch of our new website is just the beginning. We’ll be incorporating vote planning into canvassing and phone banking, at the State Convention and our Liberty & Justice dinner this summer, and of course at the Iowa State Fair. Our county parties are ready to get to work this summer and their efforts are absolutely crucial to our success.
We need your help, too. First, if you haven’t yet, I need you to go iowademocrats.org/planyourvote and make your plan to vote.
Then, I need you to share this link with three of your Democratic friends or family members.
We can win in 2024 if we all work together.
Sincerely,
Rita
