I'm hopeful about the future of this movement because of you.

Hi–

I just got back from Gun Sense University, our annual convening of volunteers and survivors from all across the gun violence prevention movement.

GSU is a special opportunity to come together and celebrate our movement's progress, learn from each other, and plan our work ahead.

Join a Moms Demand Action or Students Demand Action chapter in your community to help us build a future free from gun violence.

This year we gathered in Washington, D.C. to hold our first-ever Hill Day, where volunteers met with federal lawmakers from all 50 states to demand they act to end our gun violence crisis.

Our message to Congress was clear: We can't afford for them to sit idly by while more than 120 people are shot and killed every single day.

We're counting on our lawmakers to ban assault weapons, defend our progress on strengthening background checks, and hold the gun industry accountable for profiting from our bloodshed.

A group of volunteers in red Moms and Students Demand Action t-shirts stand in a Congressional office building while they listen to a fellow volunteer speak.

This year's GSU featured some very special guests: survivors of gun violence, local lawmakers, community partners, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and the President of the United States.

President Joe Biden stands with his hand on his heart as he addresses Gun Sense University.

And we celebrated and reflected on all the progress we've made. Our movement has made huge strides: enacting the first major gun legislation in nearly 30 years, defeating hundreds of gun lobby-backed bills, and taking on the gun industry.

A group of over 1,000 volunteers, survivors and advocates gather in front of the Gun Sense University stage.

And we won't stop until we end this crisis.

We'll be in State Capitols, on gun manufacturers' doorsteps, and in your community fighting for action. Join us: Volunteer with a Moms or Students Demand Action chapter near you.

Thank you for being in this fight. I'm hopeful about the future of this movement because of you.
