James — Hillary Clinton just joined AIPAC and the rest of the political establishment by endorsing Jamaal Bowman’s opponent in NY-16.
This isn’t the first time Clinton has tried to take down our movement for progressive change. What’s different this time? Clinton is siding with AIPAC in a race that will be seen by everyone in the media and on Capitol Hill as a referendum on Peace vs. unconditional support for Netanyahu’s war on the Palestinian people. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Clinton sided with the war machine while Bernie is standing with Jamaal.
News of Clinton’s endorsement spread quickly — and outlets framed the race as one centered on U.S. policy in Israel:
If we out-organize big money and corporate Democrats in this race, headlines will herald the victory of Jamaal Bowman and our movement for Peace against the unlimited spending of the right-wing pro-Israel lobby. But if we lose, Washington will view it as a win for the status quo policies of funding and weapons support for Israel.
AIPAC has already spent $13 million against Jamaal in this race, and could spend $25 million. Even for a super PAC, it’s an extraordinary amount for a single House race.
On AIPAC, Bowman said, “I need your help. They’re spending astronomically simply because we’re fighting for peace, justice, equality, and humanity — and specifically because we called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.”
Bowman’s primary against his AIPAC and Clinton-endorsed challenger is in less than two weeks. We need your grassroots support to out-organize the right-wing money dump targeting Bowman.
Can you chip in today to help us re-elect pro-Peace champion Jamaal Bowman despite every effort by Hillary Clinton, AIPAC and the political establishment to defeat him? We’re relying 100% on our grassroots donors to reach out to voters in his district.
When we organize, we win.
