Tomorrow, we’re celebrating an important milestone: the Army’s 249th birthday!

Nearly 500,000 U.S. Army personnel are currently on active duty, protecting our freedoms around the world. Since the Revolutionary War, the Army has remained one of the world’s foremost guardians of peace and liberty.

Troops can be deployed for up to a year at a time — an entire year spent apart from their spouses, children and communities. Soldiers miss birthdays, anniversaries and important milestones while risking their safety to protect ours. But with the help of our programs at the USO, we’re able to keep them connected to their families and send them supplies that remind them of home.
