Indivisibles,

The [ [link removed] ]Supreme Court just unanimously rejected a MAGA challenge to the
FDA’s ability to regulate mifepristone -- a drug used in medication
abortion.

This is a good thing: A small victory against this extremist court’s
ongoing attacks on reproductive freedom and abortion in particular.

But it is not over. The Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) ruling was simply that
the plaintiffs did not have standing to bring this case. Not only does
that not rule out future legal attacks on mifepristone, this is exactly
the way MAGA justices explicitly keep the door open for another case to be
brought forward in a manner that allows them to rip away our freedoms.

And while we may have gotten a reprieve from a federal mifepristone
restriction for today, MAGA state legislatures across the country are
doing everything they can to outlaw medication abortion locally: Just a
few weeks ago, [ [link removed] ]Louisiana passed a law classifying mifepristone and
misoprostol (the two drugs used for medication abortion) as controlled
substances, drastically restricting the drugs.

Access to medication abortion is still not safe from the hands of MAGA
extremists.

We know that Trump’s justices are not satisfied with letting women have
freedom over their bodies, his hand-picked cronies are the exact justices
who repealed Roe. They are looking for any opportunity to do it again, and
they may soon have just that opportunity when they rule on whether states
can ban doctors from providing emergency abortion care, right up until a
woman is about to die, in violation of federal patient protections under
the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA).

Reproductive freedoms are still in danger from SCOTUS today, and they will
be even more endangered if Trump is re-elected in November. We’ve got to
get to work today:

* [ [link removed] ]Join us for our Majority Over MAGA Weekend of Action Kickoff Call
tonight, Thursday, June 13 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Today’s ruling may have
been welcome news, but we already know that this is the same court
that overturned Roe, and they will stop at nothing to deprive us of
our reproductive freedoms. Join us tonight to hear more about what you
can do to spread the word about the current risk to our bodily
autonomy. **Bonus announcement: We will have a special message from
Vice President Kamala Harris on tonight’s call**
* [ [link removed] ]Check out our June 21-24 Weekend of Action Toolkit and plan an
event for next weekend today. From why we’re hosting a weekend of
action next week (it’s the anniversary of the repeal of Roe), to ideas
for events, to what resources we have available for groups wanting to
host events, this toolkit is your one-stop shop for all things Weekend
of Action. According to a new Times/Siena poll, 17% of voters blame
Biden for the repeal of Roe. It is vital that we get out there and
remind them that ending Roe was always Trump’s plan, and he will go
even further if he’s reelected. [ [link removed] ]Check here to see if there’s
already an event near you.

SCOTUS gets no points for doing the bare minimum and -- at least
temporarily -- upholding the FDA’s ability to regulate drug safety. We
already know that MAGA Republicans don’t care about facts or evidence
(they’re still supporting Trump even after multiple guilty verdicts), they
want control over our autonomy. [ [link removed] ]Join us tonight and learn how you can
help protect our rights today and into the future.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
