Half of the states in our country – 25 – have passed laws banning medically necessary healthcare for transgender youth, up from zero just three years ago. This means thousands of young people are being denied the care they need to live authentically and healthily. The need for your consistent support has never been greater.

Through our Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project, we are helping families navigate the bans on gender-affirming care through logistical and financial assistance.

Here are examples of how your monthly donation can help:

• $10/month: Covers postage to send a care package to LGBTQ+ youth.
• $15/month: Provides a rideshare from the airport to the hotel when families must travel for gender-affirming care access.
• $20/month: Helps cover food costs on the road during these journeys.
• $50/month: Funds the complete cost of a care package.
• $100/month: Supports the cost of an initial appointment with a healthcare provider.
• $250/month: Covers the cost of a hotel for a night.

Since starting the Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project, we've directly given out more than $500,000 in emergency grants to over 800 families. These grants help cover travel expenses, medication, mental health support, and more. We provide $500 grants twice a year, but some journeys can cost thousands for just one trip, and providers often need to see patients 3-4 times a year to provide necessary care. Your recurring donation makes sure we can keep supporting these families today, six months from now, and beyond.
