Hi,
It’s a privilege to share Battleground—our gripping new mini-documentary telling the story of a Wisconsin community’s fight against Big Pork.

When a new concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) was proposed in Wisconsin, a multi-town partnership took it upon themselves to research possible health risks of the raw manure and pollution the site would produce. As one concerned resident put it: “These corporations coming in don’t live here. They don’t really seem to care much about what happens to us.”
Community members found that the health risks associated with CAFOs included chemical burns to the respiratory tract, skin and eyes; chronic lung disease and bronchitis; lockjaw; difficulty breathing; and death.
The proposed site would generate about 9.4 million gallons of manure and wastewater each year—spread directly on 1,400 acres of local land.
In response, people from all walks of life have joined forces to protect their community and the land they call home.

While Battleground is about a single community, fights like these are unfolding all over the globe. People are standing up for their own communities. For the planet. And for the animals.
Thank you for being one of them. As a member of this community, you’re strengthening a global movement to build a healthier food system for all of us.
I hope you enjoy the film!

P.S. Ready to take action for animals right now? Hens in Asia need your help! Will you encourage Kewpie, one of the largest egg users in the world, to end cages globally?

P.P.S. On June 15, 2017, fast food chain Jack's made a promise to stop caging hens. In two days, that promise turns seven years old. But what does Jack's have to show for it? Wish Jack's a "happy birthday"—and ask when they're ending cages.
