No spin from the Trump administration can hide what we now
know: Jeff Sessions lied under oath about meetings that he held
with the Russian ambassador while working as a top-level advisor
for Donald Trump's campaign.

This new information adds to a jarring trend of senior Trump
administration officials lying about their communication
with Russian officials. The American people are demanding
answers about Trump's ties to Russia, Samuel -- but before we
can get those answers, a couple of things need to happen:

1. Attorney General Sessions must resign immediately. He
committed perjury during his confirmation hearing and had
weeks to recuse himself from this investigation. Sessions is
unfit to oversee both this investigation and the Department
of Justice.

2. A special prosecutor must be appointed to oversee the
ongoing investigation into the members of Trump's team who
were in contact with Russia -- and the cover up that
includes Mike Pence, Reince Priebus, Sessions, and Trump
himself.

Donald Trump's connections with Russia have undermined our
democracy and put the American people in danger. We need the
truth now -- but with Jeff Sessions as Attorney General, we
may never get it.
