It has already begun. The great campaign to gaslight America [[link removed]], sponsored by a system that is desperate to get back up and running. It flaunts the ease and familiarity of “normal”. It suggests that miss the good ole days. It hooks us with the promise that we will all feel good again.
But can we go back to the way it was after all we have seen? Can we unsee the cracks in the foundation, the wounds of racism and inequality exposed? Can we forget the callousness of a government that is willing to put capitalism over community care?
There is no way forward, but through the truth. The truth of inadequate and unequal systems and gross racial disparities. The truth of long standing historical wounds and deep collective trauma. And the truth of who we are beyond fear and self preservation.
Truth and love is the cure to this virus. And it can heal us if we let it.

All in this together? Not so much. Almost 90% of covid admissions are the result of comorbidities. What is comorbidity? Comorbidity is the simultaneous presence of two chronic diseases or conditions in a patient. Hypertension, cardiovascular disease and asthma are comorbidities that disproportionately affects people of color. Meanwhile, the White House task force and other medical professionals are acknowledging that this virus is impacting people of color at disproportionate rates, but not explaining why. LET US SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU: it’s structural racism [[link removed]]. "COVID deaths are disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities," AOC tweeted. "Why? Because the chronic toll of redlining, environmental racism, wealth gap, etc. ARE underlying health conditions. [[link removed]]" White supremacy is a comorbidity, and justice is the cure.
