Dear JohnURGENT - can you help people in your community make their voices heard in this election?

Government policy shapes the lives of those living in poverty. But new rules requiring voters to provide identification could stop many people on lower incomes from voting and having their say. Can you help make sure they get the chance?

The deadline for registering to vote is next Tuesday, 18 June, so it's urgent that we act now. You need internet access to register, and many people on low incomes can only access the internet through community spaces such as local libraries. This makes them a vital part of ensuring everyone gets to have their say at the election.

Here are two actions you could take:

Ask if your local library, community centre or church will put up an information poster about registering to vote and voter ID.

Ask how they are supporting people to register to vote. Could they help people to use their public computers or wifi?

Download an information poster

Best wishes
