Dear Friend –

Great news! A new bill just passed out of a state House committee that will prioritize clean energy investments in the communities that need it the most, but if our lawmakers don’t hear support from their constituents, I’m worried that it will stall.

Here’s what’s happening: The transition to clean energy will mean thousands of new good-paying jobs, clean air, lower energy costs, and energy independence. But low-income rural communities and Black and Brown communities across Pennsylvania have often been excluded from advancements of clean energy technology due to a lack of funding, resources, and technical assistance.

House Bill 2338 would fix this injustice and help to accelerate clean energy production, create union jobs, and secure our energy independence.

The urgency cannot be overstated—HB 2338 has just advanced out of committee. If we raise our voices now, we can ensure our legislators know how vital this bill is for Pennsylvania’s future. Please take action today: [link removed]

Few people know that the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority provides grants and loans for clean energy projects like solar, wind, low-impact hydropower, and geothermal. This financing Authority will also be in charge of distributing millions of federal dollars that are available right now.

For decades, already overburdened Black and Brown communities and low-wealth areas have been set aside while wealthier neighborhoods have benefited from a transition to clean energy. This bill will make a difference to ensure that the Authority prioritizes the communities that have been historically left behind.

House Bill 2338 will create a more equitable distribution of clean energy benefits and will help reduce the pollution that disproportionately affects these communities.

Dirty energy allies in the legislature have fought every step of the way to keep our energy sources tied to Big Oil and Gas. We are at a crucial juncture, and your support is essential.

I urge you to contact your State Representative today and tell them to vote YES on House Bill 2338 – for cleaner air, healthier communities, and a sustainable future for Pennsylvania: [link removed]
