What in the world is happening at our Supreme Court? I’m almost in disbelief at what I’m hearing.
First Justice Alito was immersed in controversy when he blamed his wife for flying a stop the steal flag (aka a pro-January 6th flag) in response to a neighbor’s pride flag.
Now newly-released recordings reveal the truth about his intentions. He agreed with an activist that we have to return our country to a place of “Godliness” and that they can’t negotiate with “the left.”
“One side or the other is going to win,” he said.
When I was in school, I was taught that the Supreme Court’s job was to be impartial and above politics. But here we have a Supreme Court justice, in his own words, openly encouraging political division in our country.
Not to mention Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who received undisclosed gifts from a billionaire GOP donor while his wife was texting Trump's chief of staff on January 6th.
This is why I support a new bill called the Supreme Court Ethics Act. This will establish new rules including a judicial code of conduct for all judges and justices of U.S. courts, including Supreme Court justices.
Let’s not forget these same justices were the ones who overturned Roe v. Wade and took away women’s reproductive rights. Their extremism is harming millions of Americans every single day. It’s incredibly sad, but we have to fight back against what is happening.
This isn’t about one Supreme Court Justice. This is about stopping corruption in our justice system, protecting our fundamental rights and safeguarding our democracy.
