It's more critical than ever that our democracy reflects the will of the people, and the elections happening this year are the best tools we have to ensure that happens.

Right now, states should be doing everything they can to expand absentee voting and vote-by-mail options. Voting by mail is safe and easy, but Republicans are trying to restrict these efforts across the country.

Trump has made no secret of the fact that he believes that the more people vote, the worse his own odds are. And Republican extremists have adopted these very same talking points and are spreading false information in order to try to suppress the vote in November and keep hold of their power.

No one should have to choose between their personal safety or the health of their loved ones in order to exercise their right to vote.

Not to mention that more than most demographics, veterans rely on vote-by-mail to vote and service members abroad rely on absentee ballots to participate in elections.
