John, there are a few life lessons almost universal to the human condition that we learn growing up.
The Golden Rule — to treat others the way you would want to be treated.
Not to lie, cheat, or steal.
Honesty is the best policy.
Good manners go a long way.
You don’t always get what you want.
Success comes from hard work.
It’s not always about you.
They might sound cliché, but after the decade of Donald Trump in our politics, when his immorality and indecency have infected so much of the country, aren’t we in need of some back-to-basics?
We need leaders who follow the letter of the law and abide by our Constitution.
And at the end of the day, we just need people who are decent human beings.
Leaders who treat others with respect. Leaders with honesty and integrity.
Leaders who understand what it’s like to walk a mile in another’s shoes and won’t give up fighting for what’s right just to take the easy road Trump has made for the greedy and self-interested.
Right matters. Truth matters. Our democracy matters. That’s what this campaign is about.
