Friends,
As we commemorate Pride Month this June, I am proud to celebrate the vibrant and resilient LGBTQ+ community right here in Colorado.
From Denver to Boulder, Colorado Springs to Fort Collins, the LGBTQ+ community contributes to the richness of our culture, economy, and society as a whole. Our state has enacted policies to protect and empower the LBGTQ+ community, such as prohibiting discrimination in places of public accommodation, housing, and employment based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
Although we’ve moved forward, the fight for full equality is far from over. LGBTQ+ Coloradans still face challenges, including disparities in healthcare access, higher rates of homelessness among youth, and ongoing discrimination in various aspects of life.
As your Secretary of State, I will always support Colorado's LGBTQ+ community and advocate for policies that promote equality, dignity, and respect for all. Together, we will continue working to ensure that every person in Colorado can live authentically, without fear of discrimination or prejudice.
During this Pride Month and beyond, let us celebrate the diversity and resilience of our LGBTQ+ community and recommit ourselves to building a more inclusive and equitable Colorado for all.
Happy Pride Month!
