It’s time to bring socialism to Olympia! Canvas with us to support SDSA-endorsed candidate Shaun Scott as he runs to represent the 43rd legislative district in the WA state assembly.

Shaun now has an opponent, Andrea Suarez, the founder of We Heart Seattle, a non-profit which has frequently been accused of its anti-homelessness practices.

We’ll also be gathering signatures for the I-137 ballot initiative which would put an Excess Compensation Tax to fund Seattle’s social housing program on the ballot! What is I-137? Read more about the initiative.

We’ll meet spread out in teams around Eastlake and meet back for a social, location TBD. No experience required, training will be provided on site and you will be paired with experienced volunteers!

Schedule:
11am: Meet and greet with the candidate at Roger’s Park in Eastlake, 2516 Eastlake Ave E, Seattle, WA 98102 US. Get training and supplies and group into teams.

11:30am: Head out to our respective locations for signature gathering!

2pm: We’ll meet back up at our starting location, then head out for a social to debrief over some food and drinks.

This month Seattle Public Schools announced plans to close 20 Elementary schools starting in the 2025 school year. In one of the richest cities in the US, home to billionaires and some of the most profitable corporations in the world, this is an unacceptable and an unconscionable attack on public education and our communities.

Join us for a discussion on how to fight back!
