We know that the GOP plan to disenfranchise voters never takes a day off, but the travesty driven by Wisconsin Republicans last week may be an all-time low.

During a global pandemic that has killed thousands of Americans, the Wisconsin GOP decided politics were more important than the health and safety of voters. Over the objection of Wisconsin’s Democratic Governor, Republican legislators forced voters to the polls, a cynical ploy to depress turnout in hopes of maintaining a seat on the state’s Supreme Court.

The result — hundreds of polling places were shut down, hours-long lines wrapped around entire city blocks, putting thousands at risk of contracting COVID-19. Yet even in the face of these unprecedented circumstances, voters elected a new, progressive voice to the state's Supreme Court.

Instead of prioritizing the health and safety of the American people, the GOP has rejected commonsense steps like expanding vote-by-mail to make our elections more accessible. Why?
