The House Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight and Accountability Committee voted weeks ago to hold Garland in contempt of Congress after months of the DOJ’s inadequate response to subpoenas and finally, TODAY, it will go to the House floor for a vote.

The Democrats have been working overtime to keep Merrick Garland out of trouble after he refused to release the five hours of recordings between Joe Biden and Special Counsel Robert Hur that were requested by Congress back in February. I explain the timeline of this saga in my latest oped.

The Biden Administration has invoked Executive Privilege as the reason for not releasing the recordings – despite the transcripts already being available for our House members to read, albeit redacted versions.

Merrick Garland thinks he is safe from accountability and believes he will be protected by the Biden Administration. He probably also thinks Republicans in the House won’t go through with it.
