Dear John,
Ruth’s List is excited to introduce you to three newly endorsed candidates for the Florida State House – Kelley Diona Miller running in HD-36 in Seminole County, Maria Revelles in HD-47 in Osceola and Orange counties, and Norma Perez Schwartz in HD-115 in Miami-Dade County!
In Seminole County, Kelley Diona Miller is running for HD-36, a district which President Biden won in 2020. Kelley Diona is a worker’s advocate by profession who is running for office to become a people's advocate. In addition to being a Certified Master Trainer in Human Resources and Project Management, Certified Facilitator Addiction Awareness for HR, and designated Mental Health First Responder, Kelley Diona has numerous community leadership roles under her belt; including serving as an Executive Committee Member for the Seminole County NAACP Branch, as President of her Homeowners Association, and as Diversity Chair/Precinct Captain of the Seminole Democratic Executive Committee. We believe that Kelley Diona can flip this seat blue through her personal connection to her local community and dedication to fighting for fairness for all! In House District 47, located in Osceola and Orange counties, we are endorsing Maria Revelles, the only Democratic woman in this race for the second-most Democratic State House seat in the state currently held by a Republican. Maria is a mother of six children, labor organizer, nonprofit leader, and cancer survivor. She is a proud Boricua who has led her cultural and faith communities in Puerto Rico, New York, and now Central Florida to advocate for workers’ rights, immigrants’ rights, public education, women’s equality, access to the ballot box, and climate justice. With the support of pro-choice Democrats in her district and from across Florida, Maria can win her elections in August and November. Can you contribute to her campaign [[link removed]] to help us flip this key State House seat?

In South Florida, we’re endorsing candidate Norma Perez Schwartz, running for Florida House District 115, an open seat. If elected, Norma would be the first 2nd-generation Nicaraguan-American woman ever elected to the Florida House, demonstrating the contributions of Nicaraguan immigrants and their descendants. Her journey to running for office is profoundly shaped by the resilience of her parents, who immigrated to Miami-Dade County over 45 years ago as asylum seekers fleeing political persecution. Norma, like many other working Floridians, balanced her family and work commitments while pursuing her education, earning a Masters Degree in Curriculum Instruction while raising two young children. She’s dedicated to not only her own education, but to the education of all children and families as an Early Learning professional with over two decades of experience as an educator and advocate. Norma plans to bring her expertise, passion for education, and dedication to fighting for all families to the Florida House. Kelley Diona Miller, Maria Revelles, and Norma Perez Schwartz are part of the strong and diverse coalition of women running to take back power in every corner of the state this year. These women have stepped up to do the hard and important work of talking with voters about how our communities and families deserve real representation again and how they can change the direction of Florida’s future with their vote. These women are all working mothers who represent everyday families in Florida who want their state government to work for them again– and Ruth’s List is so proud to be behind this incredible slate of women.
Will you join their teams and help them run strong campaigns that win this August and November?
Together,
Cassidy Whitaker
