Right off the bat, let's make one thing clear: our communities are NOT for sale. That’s why today, I’m asking you to take a stand and make a statement against the Republicans trying to play puppeteer in our primaries. We CANNOT let them turn our elections into their personal shopping sprees just to get what they want!
Just a few months ago, we faced a huge challenge. The largest Republican donor in America poured nearly a million dollars into our Democratic primary, betting on a candidate they believed they could buy with their deep pockets. We stood firm, we rallied, and we stopped them in their tracks! But the fight isn’t over. It’s Cori's turn now, and she’s up against the same Republicans using their cash to play in our primaries.
Why are Republicans so eager to back certain Democrats? The answer is chillingly simple: They believe they can be bought. This is a HUGE RED FLAG. We’ve seen it before, and if we don’t act now, they’ll keep trying to buy election after election. This stops here. This stops with us, with you, and with every single donation we make to keep fighters like Cori Bush in Congress!
Reports reveal that Cori’s opponent has snagged hefty sums from donors who’ve also backed folks like Missouri’s anti-abortion insurrectionist Senator Josh Hawley. That’s the kind of opposition we’re up against – billionaires trying to shape our politics in their image, not for the people of St. Louis but for their own interests.
On top of that, over $360,000 has flowed into her opponent’s campaign, earmarked by AIPAC and their right-wing strategists. It's obvious: Cori’s opponent would rather appease ultra-wealthy Republican backers than fight for the people. We can’t stand by and watch this happen. The people of St. Louis, and all our communities, deserve champions who will fight for them, not sell out to the highest bidder.
