Friend of Trust for Public Land,

In 2022, Congress authorized funding for the Active Transportation
Infrastructure Investment Program (ATIIP), a vital initiative that
helps expand trails connecting people to nature, recreation, schools,
workplaces, and their broader neighborhoods.

Interconnected trails ensure safer commuting for pedestrians and
cyclists, reducing reliance on cars and hazardous roads. Despite this
importance, Congress allocated $0 for ATIIP during this
year's appropriations process.

Tell Congress to fully fund ATIIP in the upcoming appropriations
process!

We cannot delay investments in these safe, active transportation
systems. At a time when climate resilience is more important than
ever, trails reduce emissions and traffic congestion by promoting
carbon-free transportation. They help to prevent traffic-related
fatalities among walkers and cyclists.

New trails are also a great way to connect to the outdoors and to each
other, bringing exercise, adventure and joy to communities that lack
parks and convenient access to nature.

That's why, with your help, we're working tirelessly to
develop and link trails nationwide. But we can't do it alone.
Full funding for ATIIP is essential to bridge gaps in our trail
systems across the country.

Help us connect more of America's trails and foster healthier,
greener communities by taking action today.
