In California, Democrat Christy Smith just advanced to the general election after winning the most votes in the jungle primary for the open seat in the 25th Congressional District. Now, she’s facing a Republican in November -- and the GOP is working overtime to pick up this seat.
Christy Smith is a Democratic state lawmaker who is known for working hard and getting things done. Like me, she believes in working across the aisle to make progress without sacrificing our deeply-held values -- because we should always agree where we can, but fight where we must.
Christy is running for Congress to fight for families in California and across the country. She will work for affordable, available health care for all, commonsense gun reform, and climate action. And she’ll fight to end the corruption in Washington and get dark money out of politics for good.
