Texas Workforce Commission Update

Dear Friends,

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is experiencing an unprecedented increase in unemployment claims that have led to long wait times and overwhelmed call centers.

To help manage the high volume of customers, the TWC is recommending that Texans use the call and access times assigned by the TWC to file their claims.

Applicants for unemployment benefits have two options to file:

Apply online by visiting: UI.Texasworkforce.org

or

Apply by phone at the TWC Tele-Center at (800) 939-6631

Suggested Call Time for Area Code of Applicant 

Area Codes Beginning with 9
Mon-Wed-Fri 8:00 a.m.-Noon

Area Codes Beginning with 3, 4, 5,6
Mon-Wed-Fri 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Area Codes Beginning with 7, 8
Tues -Thurs-Sat  8:00 a.m. - Noon

Area Codes Beginning with 2
Tues-Thurs-Sat 1:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m.
