Folks,

One month ago I wrote to you about a bombshell report from CNN detailing a secret prison camp run by Israeli Occupation Forces in the desert, where Palestinian citizens are being illegally incarcerated and subjected to psychological and physical torture.

Today we’ve learned that the abuse is far worse than we already knew.

Last month, I hesitated to share some of the details with you. Our team is always careful to weigh the importance of exposing the truth against the trauma that is inevitably inflicted when these topics are discussed in the public domain.

But this is too important. What we’ve learned now is revolting and inhumane – and you deserve to know the truth.

Last week the New York Times published new details about the Sde Teiman secret torture prison, with details of Palestinian men being raped to death with hot metal rods, electrocuted repeatedly, or shackled hand-to-feet with their bodies forced into contorted positions cutting off blood supply.

Most of the images are still too gruesome to share uncensored, but here are two segments:

A quote from a New York Times article titled “Inside the Base where Israel has detained thousands of Gazans” published June 6, 2024. The quoted text reads: “A leaked draft of the UNRWA report detailed an interview that gave a similar account. It cited a 41-year-old detainee who said that interrogators “made me sit on something like a hot metal stick and it felt like fire,” and also said that another detainee “died after they put the electric stick up” his anus.” The quote is imposed over a black and white photo of Palestinian detainees stripped nearly naked, shackled and blindfolded, then loaded into the bed of a crowded military truck by Israeli soldiers to be driven to the detention center.
A quote from a New York Times article titled “Inside the Base where Israel has detained thousands of Gazans” published June 6, 2024. The quoted text reads: “Mr. al-Hamlawi recalled being forced to sit in a chair wired with electricity. He said he was shocked so often that, after initially urinating uncontrollably, he then stopped urinating for several days. Mr. al-Hamlawi said he, too, had been forced to wear nothing but a diaper, to stop him from soiling the floor. Ibrahim Shaheen, 38, a truck driver detained in early December for nearly three months, said he was shocked roughly half a dozen times while sitting in a chair. Officers accused him of concealing information about the location of dead hostages, Mr. Shaheen said.” The quote is imposed over a black and white photo of the Sde Teiman detention facility.

More than 4,000 Palestinians have been sent to Sde Teiman since October 7th alone. How many more of these secret torture prisons exist?

More to the point, how much longer will our government continue to send weapons and money to the torturers?

Zionism is a supremacist ideology that depends on the total dehumanization of the Palestinian people to survive. We are funding and facilitating this torture as much as we are facilitating the Boeing-made bombs being dropped on refugees in tents.

I’m not running for Congress to get famous or make friends, folks. I’m running because this shit is fucking wrong and we must have people in our federal government who will say that.

If I were in Congress right now I would be drawing up articles of impeachment against Joe Biden for war crimes.

It’s time to sanction Israel’s criminal cabinet and isolate them as a pariah on the international stage. It’s time to prosecute the war criminals. All of them.

In solidarity,

Jason
