I'll be honest, John. I don't remember the first time I watched or played football. When you grow up in Texas, it's just a way of life, from watching the Cowboys on Sundays to suiting up for your first pee wee football game.

What I loved most about playing football was being part of a team. Playing sports taught me how to work hard and work together, and that the needs of the team were more important than my own.

Now, instead of the Hillcrest Panthers, the Baylor Bears, or the Tennessee Titans, my team is Texas, and every day I fight to give Texans a voice in Congress.

I will always work as hard as I ever did on the football field to deliver for Texas. That's why I'm running to defeat Ted Cruz, and today, I'm asking you to chip in $7 – and help me send him packing. →

Ted Cruz is what we in the NFL used to call a "me-guy." Plainly put, he's only looking out for himself. He puts his own interests before those of the team every chance he gets, and when there’s a me-guy on the team it makes everybody worse. Texans deserve better.

As a former linebacker, I’ve taken down guys a lot tougher than Ted Cruz, and as a fourth-generation Texan I'm ready to serve all 30 million Texans and be the leader our state truly deserves.

Now, it's up to this team to hold him accountable, and I need you with me every step of the way, John. So I have to ask: If you're committed to defeating Ted Cruz this year, will you chip in $7 or more before my midnight fundraising deadline?

I'm so grateful to have you in this with me, John. Thanks for your support,

Colin
